Plaza de las Américas (Juan Pablo II Square)

The most striking characteristics of this esplanade is the pink quarry with which it is paved and the 29 flags of the countries of Continental America and the Caribbean that stand at one end of the square. This flags are the reason why the Square first got its name. It also showcases several bronze sculptures that tell the origin of man according to the pre-Hispanic tradition (according to which man was first created out of corn). It has a large garden with comfortable benches in which you may enjoy a nice afternoon.
