La Primavera Forest

La Primavera Forest has existed for about 140 thousand years, making it worth the title of the oldest remaining ecological reserve. Hot springs, beautiful flora and fauna, recreation and rest areas are only some of the elements that comprise this place.

Its vegetation has been classified into four sections: red oak-pine forest; pine forest; red oak forest; and deciduous tropical forest. So far more than a thousand different plant species have been found here. As for the fauna, more than 60 mammalian species have already been identified, such as: coyotes, deer, pumas, cacomixtles and bats; In addition to more than 49 species of reptiles, 20 amphibians, 205 birds and seven species of fish. This is without doubt a place of great natural diversity and wealth.

The park features four different entrances: Booth 1, located in Prolongación Mariano Otero km 5.7; Booth 2, located in the town of La Primavera; Booth 3, near Tala in the Las Hondonadas property; and through the bridge “Las Tortugas”, located on the Guadalajara -Tala Ameca road.
