Huichol Wixárica Art Museum

The Huichol Wixárica Art Museum features an exhibition hall as well as a shop filled with items from the local ethnic group known as “Huicholes”. Some of the items available for sell are handmade backpacks, skirts, blouses, necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and handbags, which are elaborated with “chaquira”. The museum exhibits several wood carved masks which represent the Huichol world view in their images. (Some of them are available for sale). These handcrafts are decorated with beautiful images of deer with big horns, corn cobs, peyotes and intense colors. There is also a photographic exhibition of the community’s daily rural life. The museum is located next to the Basilica.
