Gray quarry and huge atriums that remind us of other times in the central area of Zapopan. Enter the Municipal Palace and behold its neocolonial style architecture. Go upstairs and take a look at the famous mural painting “Revolución Universal”. Inquire about the available activities, as this a government building is also a meeting point and the venue of several fairs, congresses and cultural events.

On the same side of the street you may see the Temple of San Pedro Apostle. Did you know any other church with a vault made of pumice stone? Its architectural style make it an absolute must see. Arrive at dusk, when its façade is illuminated in amber tones…

End your tour in Plaza Caudillos, in front of the Municipal Palace; this esplanade houses a monument to “Mexicanness”. You will also find several cafes and restaurants where you can taste the best of the region’s gastronomy or just enjoy a good coffee from the Western Sierra.

We recommend:
  • Take advantage of direct paths and shortcuts. Plaza Caudillos connects directly with the main Street of Downtown Zapopan and the 20 de Noviembre Walkway.
  • Next to the Municipal Palace, looking at the Temple of San Pedro, we find a square with gardens, a fountain and sapote trees (after which the municipality is named).
  • Find the perfect closure for your tour at night. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays you can see the video mapping At Plaza las Américas. The show begins at 21:00.
